Triglav Circle continues to expand its activities.

Members of the Circle are collaborating in an event 8-10 November at Duke University in conjunction with the Sawyer Seminar on Health and Environment in China and India, sponsored by the Mellon Foundation.  The project is directed by Triglav member and Duke University professor, Dominic Sachsenmaier (history). Many scholars, public intellectuals, representatives of IGOs and NGOs have been invited to share in events related to this year long Seminar Program. This meeting will focus on universally shared philosophical and spiritual issues arising in tensions between the goals of development and the necessity to maintain social, cultural and environmental sustainability.

The Circle is establishing an affiliate organization in France for its European members.  It will be located in Ougny, France and will hold its next meeting at the eat the beginning of July 2008 to discuss “the concept of progress and its current relevance.”

The Triglav Circle will hold a Seminar at the UN Commission on Social Development, February 2008. The subject of the seminar will be “Employment and Human Dignity Revisited.”
